Residential Design and Build

For their Live-In Showhome Nick & Kylie followed the same design principles they use with each of their clients. The Design firstly reflects who they are as a family with their distinctly American design flair. Secondly, functionality. As a growing family, they needed a home to take them through the childhood years into the teens and beyond. Flexible zones provide wide open spaces for family occasions and cozy nooks during quiet times.

“Building for ourselves always provides us with insight and understanding into the process. There are so many choices out there, and so many decisions to be made. We got really clear about the overall look and style of our home, very early on – so every decision we made was easier! It either added to the look or took away from it. We used our signature Dream Book Organiser to keep our ideas together and on track. It came to ALL the shopping trips.

Additionally, Working with your spouse on a project like building a new home can be really testing on your relationship. They say it’s the second hardest thing you’ll experience as a couple. First being, raising a family. We keep this front of mind, each time we build together. And is something we remind our clients regularly. This isn’t an everyday occurrence, and not everyone does it. So be patient with each other, compromise when needed, this is a unique journey.”
